What a Great Summer Picnic in the Park!

EHFC Picnic at Taughannock ParkThe picnic was a great time at the park with 30+ people in attendance. As usual, East Hill people can really cook well. The prize probably goes to Peter's mystery beans and Betsy Fallon's chocolate cake...what great food! Brent Chidsey brought fresh corn on the cob (and the cooker). Thank-you to Mike Thompson for coordinating this event and providing all the effort setting it up. Again, many hands made the clean-up quick. Thanks to all who attended!
Joe and Rich with Flight Design CT Light Sport Aircraft at East Hill

Thanks to Joe and Rich for bringing their beautiful Flight Design CT LSA to the club today! With board approval, this plane will be available to fly here at East Hill soon. We are guessing $90 an hour given the current costs. What an amazing plane at this price with a new and roomy interior, a 3 axis autopilot, Garmin 496 GPS and full glass instrument panel! FAA Seminar @ KFZY

We had a great flight to KFZY for the FAA Safety Seminar with Lon Sauter (July 9th). Three planes and 10 East Hill members made the trip. The bonus was they even had a barbeque dinner! We were fortunate to just skirt the last convective activity and fly VFR all the way. The return was again VFR below a deck of clouds. There will be two more in this series later this summer for those that want to fly along.

We are grateful every day for the maintenance guys who keep us running! We rely heavily on the essential services of people like Jerry Friedman (L) at Taughannock who usually installs and fixes our radios but also swings a wrench when called. He keeps us flying. Don McAnn and Allen Staff (R) at Finger Lakes Flying Service have done several annuals for us. They are very thorough, quick and professional. Thanks guys!
